"Don't give a damn"

(MP3 FILE DOWNLOAD HERE!)

I know it was me who made this crazy call,
It just seemed like a good idea at the time;
But now I'm not so very certain at all
Because it sounds so much like you’re crying
At the end of a telephone line.

Chorus:-

I must have been mad not to notice before that you’re not the woman for me.
You seemed so surprised I was laughing as I packed my bags to leave.
And now you go to such pain to ask, who the devil do I think I am?
Well I know it sounds hard but I feel really good and I just don't give a damn;
I know it sounds hard but I feel really good and I just don't give a damn!.....
(No, no, no!)

Well we made our different friends and chose our very separate roads;
Drifting further apart all the while:
Till now in the street, we pass like total strangers;
Just as if we'd never met
Or never learned how to smile.

Chorus.

Hey, well you know I'd never really mean it,
Should I say, 'Hi there, sure it's good to see your face.'
I think it would be crazy but I know it would be wrong
If we should ever try to work this out
'Cos I haven't the time and this isn't the place!

Chorus.
