There are a shrinking number of music shops that stock organs and I am always
getting asked about new or second-hand organs and keyboards. I have refurbished some classic
old organs but it's not really a large number, all those are gone to new 'homes' now.
A new organ for a church needs to be tried first and that's something very few shops offer.
As I have pointed out before, I don't have a showroom to sell loadsa
new organs, keyboards etc,.... but I know a man who has!

word for it,.. no, on second thoughts don't,.. just go an' try one!

In addition to the electronic instruments, He has some very nice pianos ranging from compact
uprights to grands,...
.... try asking him to demonstrate some of them to you and you might be, like
many of his friends, a little frustrated because Wensleigh has this annoying habit of playing
only the first 30 seconds of anything! Come to think of it,.. if he ever decides to change careers, he's got
a great future in advertising jingles!! There are chances
to actually catch him playing COMPLETE pieces when he does recitals,.. there was one
in Sidmouth.

I have it on good authority that there's another perfomance from this megga skilled maestro coming up on
19th October ah, now 2nd November 2007 (so ammend your diaries!) at Sidwell Street Methodist Church
in EXETER,. 7:30 PM. This one is in aid of the organ restoration fund. If he plays some of the more energetic bits
out of his repertiore,.. it might need more urgent attention than they thought!
Oh yes,.. the better half of the Palmers, Jackie, will be there singing
with her beautiful voice too. I have it on good authority that the '30 second rule' does not apply to Jackie!
The nice thing about buying something from Wensleigh is hearing him play a quick snippet
of something on it. That way you know how good it can sound,... of course for some of us,
(me being in this club) that's possibly the last time it will ever sound that good!
The shop does look a bit deserted in these pics but that's because it was closed at the
time I took them,... and Wensleigh was not aware that he was in them either!
I know you can get really cheap deals by buying online BUT you may loose
out on after sales service in doing so. I only mention this because of the number of customers
who call me up with problems that should be covered by warranty but they bought the thing from
a trader on Ebay,... who has cleared his stock and vanished! Hence no after-sales service!
If you buy from Wensleigh, you will get the back-up.
